30 Days Book Challenge

Day 30. The book you’re reading right now.

I ended Cloud Atlas yesterday and still I can’t stop thinking about it…I will read it again in English soon.

As for Fairy And Folk Tales of Irish Peasantry…I’m reading one tale from time to time when I have right mood. I like it a lot <3

And this is the end of my challenge…it really took long to complete it. I will miss it. :(

Day 29. An author you wish was more well-known

Anne Brontë.

I don’t know how it is abroad but in poland she’s terribly underestimated. Everyone heard about Emily Brontë and her Wuthering Heights  (and I’m not too fond of this particular book) and Charlotte is becoming more and more known. But Anne? Until 2012, none of her books was translated to Polish! And I think it’s a shame, really. I read only The Tenant of Wildfell Hall but I think it’s the best thing written by Brontë sisters I read so far.

Day 28. The first book you can remember reading on your own

Honestly, it’s first book I read on my own. I was five years old.

Of course I mean Polish version, I wasn’t smart enough to read ENglish books at that age :P

30 Days Book Challenge.

Day 28: Your favorite genre

Hmmm, hard to say…I like all types of books but my favorite are very widely perceived fantasy and sci-fi. It gives me strengh to deal with everyday life. Maybe I’m escapist, I don’t really care ;)

30 Days Song Challenge.

Day 26. Your favorite type of nonfiction book

Biographies.

Day 25. The nerdiest book you’ve ever read.

Ok, that’s weird question…

I’ve read many of Star Wars books. Not all of them but many. My heart belongs to Thrawn and Mara Jade.

But I got even more nerdy books on Secret Santa…Doctor Who books! And I plan t read them soon ^^

30 Days Book Challenge.
Day 24: Your favorite series

That’s funny, actually, because most of my favorites books are in fact SERIES. So, it’s really hard to choose…

That’s my top 5, I think.

Day 23: A book you once hated, but now love. What changed?

Oh, actually I have a lot of books like that. But the most important one are:

Ursula Le Guin’s saga about Earthsea
and Neil Gaiman’s American Gods.

I just didn’t understand these books before.

PS> Polish cover arts are nice, aren’t they? ;)

Day 22. A book you once loved, but don’t anymore. What changed?

Oh dear, this one is difficult. But I feel this way about books of Polish author, Henryk Sienkiewicz. I really used to like them when I was younger but now…not anymore. I don’t know why, to be honest. They’re not so bad. But maybe I’ve just changed a lot, I was very bright child who loved stories with happy end :)

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 21. The most disturbing book you’ve ever read

Hmmm…difficult one. Either Ring by Koji Suzuki or Out by Natsuo Kirino.

Japanese horrors are creepy ;)

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 20. The environment you most enjoy reading in

My home.

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 19. A book that you think is woefully underrated

Dark Tower saga. At least in my country.

I haven’t read The Wind Through The Keyhole yet but nevermind…

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 18. A book that you think is highly overrated.

“Twilight” saga. And it’s overrated in both directions. It’s not as brilliant some say. it’s not that terrible some say.

That’s my opinion, don’t kill me please ;)

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 17. A book you want to like, but can’t get into for whatever reason. Why can’t you get into it?

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.

It’s classic book and it’s good but I can’t get into marinistic stories at all :(

30 Days Book Challenge

Day 16. A book you haven’t read and have no intention of ever reading.

Oh, I don’t know, honestly. Hmmm, Bridget Jones’s Diary, I suppose…although the movie was quite funny.
